BiÓbuda and Biointensive Group
We are busy with new markets and getting full prepped for winter as well as meet up with our fellow biointensive growers in Hungary.
We have started (second occasion) going along on Saturdays to the new BiÓbuda organic Farmers Market. This makes our weekends a bit more complicated, but hopefully strengthen the purchase of fresh, organic produce in Budapest. It is encouraging to be part of a new initiative.
Another initiative we are part of is the Agroökológia Hálózat Biointensive Growers csoport. (agroecological network's biointensive growers group). This is a ground-up initiative by small organic/agroecological (mostly) vegetable growers in Hungary. We meet a few times a year - mostly, meeting on each others farms/gardens, to share experience, compare techniques, and generally develop the agroecological growers community. Being part of a wider community of individuals and groups dedicated to changing our food system is a way to keep our batteries charged, and keep striving to grow healthy produce whilst protecting Nature. We will give a report on the meeting in next week's newsletter.
