We appreciate that cooperation with Cargonomia allows us to offer the convenience of home delivery without increasing the number of kilometers driven by our van, and the associated carbon emissions and air pollutants in the city. We thank you for participating in our weekly box system (or ordering any produce you like from the webshop) either by picking up an order in person at one of our delivery locations, or by having your order delivered to your door by bike. It is our goal to maintain a convenient community food system which prioritizes our health, and the health of our local environment, and our future.
What is Cargonomia?
Cargonomia manages a community cargobike sharing center in Budapest, and serves as an open research and experimentation cooperative dealing with community sustainability advocacy, well being for all, and degrowth. Among a large diversity of activities and projects, they promote cargobike mobility solutions and offer the opportunity to citizens and civic initiatives borrow bikes and trailers. Team members of Cargonomia directly manage some home deliveries in Budapest but most of them are made by their partner, the Golya Futar cooperative (https://www.golyaszovetkezet.hu/golya-futar). Since March 2020, Golya Futar exists as a messenger cooperative which delivers packages in Budapest, typically offering last mile solutions for larger logistics systems. They are also available for immediate deliveries, furniture transport and moving support by bicycle.
Another important project of Cargonomia is its traineeship program, which serves as an “open university” inviting dozens of young adult learners to participate directly in activities on the farm, in the Cargonomia study garden in Zsambok, and Cargonomia’s various activities in and outside of Budapest. Cargonomia trainees develop their own research projects which support the farm and team’s activities, they help at the farm every Wednesday and Friday, also provide supporting in managing two box pickup points in Budapest (Valyo and Cargonomia) See more about our traineeship program: https://cargonomia.hu/join-us-new/).

For those of you who take advantage of the opportunity to have your vegetable orders delivered to your address by bicycle. The fee for home delivery is be included in the final price of your order on our webshop.
