Transplanting and Cargonomia
Transplanting is in full force for autumn and teams of Cargonomia are changing.
This last week a lot of sowings and seedlings went into the ground at Zsámboki Biokert, and this week a lot more will be sown and transplanted in the polytunnels.
We said goodbye this week to Sam and Lucien, 2 of the Cargonomia French interns, who have now finished their 6 month internship. Logan leads the Cargonomia internship program, which has gone from strength to strength over the last years. Many of the interns are studying engineering at French universities, and often comment that after their internship they start to see the world differently. Engineering is a great technical training, but to solve many of the environmental and social problems we have in front of us, a linear engineering approach to problem-solving is not complex enough. They see that a more holistic approach to understanding the interrelationships of environement and human society is needed if we are to find positive, long-term solutions to the problems we face on the planet.
