Processing and Harvesting
We have started our crop processing season!
This week Kati and her team worked on producing aubergine spread. This is delicious - the aubergines are producing nicely - we would like this year to be a bumper harvest!
Meanwhile, lots else going on in the garden and around the farm. Logan and his Cargonomia team harvested the onion crops (red and purple shallot onions). We had respectable yields this season, with good quality - similar to our earlier garlic harvest.
Matthew, Zoli and most important Sári ló (our loyal horse) harvested a section of the potato harvest. We are preparing beds around the farm ready for sowings for the autumn season. These are often a bit tricky, as the hot, dry conditioins make germination challenging - so we are hoping for a few days of cooler weather, to give our autumn sowings a bit of a head start. Which seems to have arrived today, Sunday. Let's pray for some proper rain!
