Preparing for Autumn

A gardener always thinks ahead...

The garden is beginning to recover a little following the few weeks of overheat and drought. We managed to set up a temporary solution for the irrigation, as things were getting serious, so most of our crops are starting to pick up again. Petro Csaba (our young and enthusiastic farm manager) is back from his honeymoon, and now fully back in the swing of the work in the garden.

This is the period in the summer when we prepare beds for the autumn crops, and we are continuously sowing smaller and larger batches of seeds to try to keep our supply as even as possible. Germination at this time of year is always a bit hit-and-miss, according to how the thermometer swings, but we are quite hopeful that in this season we will get good germination of crops, especially during this cooler spell.
