Butterhead lettuce is a type of loose-head lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. capitata) known for its soft, tender leaves and mild, buttery flavor—hence the name. It's popular in many cuisines and often used in fresh salads, wraps, or sandwiches.
In Hungarian, it's called vajfej saláta or vajas saláta.
