We would like to recommend the film "Strawberry days" - a feature film available on Netflix which alongside the main story (Romeo-Juliet type love story), the background setting is large scale conventional strawberry production in Sweden. The film effectively juxtaposed the parallel lives of Swedish farmers in a rural community, and the lives of the Polish pickers on whom they depend. These communities are two worlds apart, living side by side. The film illustrates that ethical issues connected with industrial-scale agriculture are not only environmental, but that they inevitably demand de-humanised social relationships. Excessive profit cannot be maintained without exploitative relationships. This is not a fun movie but worth watching.
