We are still pretty busy on the farm, right up to Christmas, but everyone is looking forward to a break over the holidays - a time to enjoy the indoors ( until this quickly becomes too much!), to eat, drink and be merry, and reflect over the year past, and muster energy and enthusiasm for the new year.
Logan has read the book and got a great review on it. Here it is!:
Őry Barnabas' latest publication "Biointenzív zöldségtermesztés" makes great progress in introducing proven practices from the world of market gardening in a language and format which is understandable, citing techniques which are replicable at various scales while acknowledging implementation realities which are accurate in the Hungarian context. The text can be considered a recommended guide for home gardeners looking to take the next steps in professionalizing their production practices, or for young enthusiasts and experienced growers alike who may be transitioning to starting their own farm businesses. A unique contribution of the text is the showcase of faces, gardens (including Zsámboki Biokert), techniques and essential human stories which are representative of the small-scale, ecologically conscious farming movement active in Hungary for decades, helping remind us that we do not need to look far to find model examples of those working to sustain conscious food communities in a time of global ecological and nutritional crisis.
The book could be a great X-mas present, you can get yours at our webshop (the book only available in Hungarian).
