We have been enjoying very clement weather this spring and early summer, with regular rains, and (until now) not extreme temperatures. These last few days the temperatures are soaring, which stresses our crops, and limits what we can grow successfully (e.g. koriander is no more keen on hot July burning sun than I am), but so far crops are holding up well, and it has been a bonus that we have been able to harvest wonderful brokkoli, cabbage and red cabbage. We are already preparing for autumn, and this week the young French Cargonómia interns on Wednesday helped a lot by spreading compost and the area for winter storable vegetables. We were able to get the compost spread, and turned into the soil straight away - this way keeping the benefits of the compost for the soil.
