JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Zsamboki Biokert - Two roles: Pick-up point coordinator and marketing support
We are an organic food and farming business embarking on a programme of growth and
development. We are looking for support in two part-time roles - managing our pick-up points
in Budapest and Gödöllő, and support in marketing. This brief gives a background to our
business and describes the roles.
Summary
● Organic food and farming business, planning significant expansion, looking to fill two
part-time roles
● Role 1: Pick-up point co-ordinator - work with ten existing pick-up points around
Budapest and Gödöllő to ensure smooth operations and effective customer
recruitment; identify and on-board new pick-up points
● Role 2: Marketing support - arranging off-line marketing (co-ordinating with
designers, printers); supporting in designing and executing social media campaigns
Background and context
Zsamboki Biokert was set up in 2010 to build an organic market garden in Zsambok (60 km
East of Budapest) to supply organic vegetables to customers in the greater Budapest area.
From the start we set out to create a thriving venture which would create healthy foods while
enriching soil and biodiversity and strengthening the food and farming community where we
operate. The hegemonic food and agri-industry is destroying our land and destroying our
health. We want to help people escape from its clutches.
Today we run a popular box scheme which delivers to around 10 pick-up points in and
around Budapest and runs a well-established stall at the organic market in Budapest with a
loyal base of customers. We have remained dedicated to a high level of sustainability in the
way we manage the soil and care for our crops and consider our team and customer
community.
We are embarking on a programme of growth and development - we have established a new
packing centre in Godollo, are launching a new webshop and expanding our product range.
1. Pick-up point coordinator role
Our webshop customers pick up their orders at around 10 pick-up points in Budapest,
Gödöllő and Biatorbágy. The pick-up points are typically owner-operated cafes, small shops
or social centres. We deliver to them on Thursdays and customers come to pick up their
orders, typically at the end of their working day.
The role of the pick-up points coordinator is to:
● Ensure we have a well-working relationship with our pick-up points and the people
working there
● Work with pick-up points to do joint marketing and promotion
● Identify new pick-up points and bring them on board
● Over time develop a protocol for recruiting and working with pick-up points

We are looking for someone who is practical and energetic, happy to get out and meet and
talk to people. Plenty of common sense and good cheer is needed. Personality is more
important than qualifications.
This is a part-time role of 6-10 hours a week. Partly from home, partly on site in Budapest
and Gődőllő, and visiting current and potential pick-up-points.
Marketing support role
Traditionally we have done very little marketing but now want to build up a regular marketing
presence. We are working with an experienced marketing consultant to help us get this right.
The marketing support role includes:
● Organising production and distribution of off-line marketing materials (posters, flyers,
brochures)
● Arranging marketing initiatives e.g. events, physical campaigns
● Supporting our marketing partners in building up our online presence, by creating
content, posting, distributing our content to partners, or reacting to relevant content
and so on.
We are looking for someone who loves story telling and communicating with people. They
should be genuinely aligned with the values and ambitions of our business. The successful
candidate preferably is already experienced in social media marketing, although less
experienced candidates with the right mix of qualities must be keen to learn and ready to put
in the effort to get up to speed on modern marketing techniques. Personality is more
important than qualifications.
This is a part-time role of 6-10 hours a week initially but it could grow. Mainly working from
home, with face to face team meetings in Budapest, Gődőllő and Zsámbok.
